Enhancements to the SecurityMob EWS service!
The SecurityMob team are happy to announce several improvements in the service to all subscribers, planned for introduction on the 4th March 2005.
1. Early Warning Service (EWS) announced
All current subscriber services are now named Early Warning System (EWS). The services are identical in every way, and allow SecurityMob to further extend the service portfolio.
2. New Website design and functionality
A completely redesigned subscriber website which provides access to many of the new EWS services, specifically:
a) Dual alert profiles
Currently SecurityMob subscribers receive an email and SMS alert when a threat reaches a single threshold in risk level. The updated service allows subscribers to set different alert rules for email and SMS alerts, setting ‘lower risk’ alerts to be sent by email and ‘higher risk’ alerts for the same threat being sent by SMS.
b) Graphical reports
Every effort has been made to provide the subscriber with as much visual information about threats as possible, particularly with tracking threats over time.
c) Improved ‘relationship’ information
The SecurityMob database now relates vulnerability and malicious code data together. Each vulnerability record outlines the ‘Current state of Malware development’ and the number of unique threats known to attack it, allowing subscribers to better understanding of how threats are targeting their vulnerabilities.
d) ‘Your products’ threat information
Subscribers can now track the known threats, how active the alert history has been, the average risk level of those alerts and an alert risk level breakdown for every product monitored by SecurityMob (currently over 8,000 products) Subscribers can also compare two products for comparison, providing them with unbiased security information on competing products.
3. Improved Malware (virus) alerting options
Currently subscribers set an alert threshold for ‘all’ malware, irrespective of the sub-type of malicious code being reported. Subscribers can now choose from over 8 malware sub-types, so that subscribers only receive the alerts they need.
